Elias lost his independence after suffering a shattered arm. Donnie, Elias’s stepfather, contacted Amber, Elias’s stepsister, and asked her to assist him with his everyday household duties after realizing the seriousness of the problem and the necessity for ongoing care. Amber firmly agreed and made an effort to support his nerdy stepbrother for a while, but things quickly became strange. She obediently helped him with everyday tasks including eating, using the restroom, and reaching for the remote control. But as time passed, Elias started to make more and more irrational demands on Amber, maybe driven by a mix of boredom, annoyance, and a sense of entitlement.
